Red Light Therapy
What Is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy at Heights Wellness Retreat exposes your body to red and near-infrared light. The light passes through your skin and reaches the cells beneath, where it supports the energy production those cells rely on to repair themselves.
The clinical name is photobiomodulation. You lie or stand in front of the panels and the light does the work.
You feel gentle warmth and nothing else. There is no UV exposure and no tanning effect.
The panels deliver red light in the 600 nanometer range and near-infrared light above 800 nanometers. Red works closer to the surface where skin renewal happens. Near-infrared travels deeper to reach muscle and joint tissue.
Why Guests Choose Red Light Therapy
Supports Muscle Recovery
Red light reaches muscle tissue below the surface. This may help your body recover between training sessions and reduce lingering soreness.
What to Expect During Your session
Your visit opens with a conversation. Your Wellness Consultant asks about your goals before anything begins. Every service includes up to ten minutes of consultation and dressing time.
How to Prepare
Come with clean skin and no heavy lotions or makeup where you want the light to reach. Light passes more effectively through bare skin.
During the Session
A red light therapy session runs about twenty minutes of light exposure.
You position yourself in front of the panels and stay comfortable. Protective eyewear is provided when appropriate.
The warmth is gentle throughout. There is no downtime afterward and you can return to your day immediately.
Before You Book
Red light therapy is a complementary wellness service. It does not replace medical treatment. Speak with your physician first if you are pregnant or if you take medication that increases light sensitivity.
Common Questions
Is red light therapy the same as a tanning bed?
No. Red light therapy uses no UV light at all, so there is no tanning effect and no associated skin damage.
How long is a session?
About twenty minutes of light exposure. Plan for roughly ten additional minutes for consultation and changing.
Does it hurt?
No. You feel gentle warmth and nothing more.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever leaves the areas you want treated exposed to the light. Your Wellness Consultant will walk you through it.
How often should I come in?
Two to three sessions a week suits most goals. Your Wellness Consultant can help you find the right pace.
How soon will I notice a difference?
Results build gradually. Most guests notice changes after a series of consistent sessions rather than a single visit.
How do I book a session?
Call or book online and your Wellness Consultant will confirm availability and walk you through your first visit.
All services and pricing vary by location and reflect the first-time guest rate. Each service you receive includes up to ten minutes of consultation and dressing time.

Built Red Light Therapy Into Your Routine
Red light therapy works best as a routine. The effect is cumulative and builds across consistent sessions.
If you are new to red light therapy, two to three sessions a week for the first three to four weeks helps you build a base. Most guests hold that same pace through heavy training periods. Once you are established, one session a week or every other week maintains the benefit.
Your body responds to a steady cadence. Adding sessions beyond this range does not add benefit, so consistency matters more than volume.
Your Wellness Consultant can help you set a cadence around your goals.
Red light therapy is included in the Path 2 Unlimited Technology and Path 3 Elite Wellness memberships. Both give you unlimited access to the wellness technologies available at your Retreat.
