A couples massage at Massage Heights Alamo Heights is two separate massage sessions performed simultaneously in the same room, each guest with their own licensed massage therapist and their own table. The dedicated couples massage room is a larger, peaceful space within our Retreat, designed so two guests can share the experience side by side without sacrificing anything from their individual session.

The service is open to partners, friends, siblings, or family members. There’s no requirement that both guests choose the same style or pressure. Each person works directly with their therapist to shape a session around their own wellness goals.

Each Guest Chooses Their Own Massage Style

Because each session is fully individualized, both guests can select from the same range of massage styles available at Massage Heights Alamo Heights. You don’t need to agree on a style in advance.

Each guest may independently choose from:

Swedish: Long, flowing strokes that support relaxation and circulation. A good starting point for guests new to massage.
Deep Tissue: Focused work on deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, suited for chronic tension or recovery from physical strain.
Sports Massage: Targeted work supporting athletic performance, flexibility, and muscle recovery.
Prenatal Massage: Adapted for expectant guests after the first trimester, addressing the specific physical needs that come with pregnancy.

One guest can choose Swedish while the other chooses Deep Tissue. One guest may book a Prenatal Massage while the other selects Sports Massage. The sessions run simultaneously, so neither guest’s experience is shaped by the other’s choices.

Our Retreat at Massage Heights Alamo Heights is an earthy, upscale environment built for intentional self-care. Every couples massage session is customized by your licensed massage therapist based on what you bring that day: your goals, any areas of concern, and your preferred pressure. That customization doesn’t stop at style selection. It continues through the session as your therapist adapts to your feedback.

For guests who want to make shared self-care a regular part of their routine, we offer Wellness Program memberships in 12 Month, 6 Month, 3 Month, and Elevated tiers. Every plan includes a 60-minute monthly massage with complimentary Aromatherapy. The Elevated plan also includes one enhancement of the member’s choice. Membership makes it easy to return consistently rather than treating massage as an occasional event.

Gift cards are available and can be applied toward couples massage sessions. It’s a straightforward way to share the experience with someone.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Before your session begins, each guest completes an individual intake. You’ll share your wellness goals, any areas you’d like your therapist to focus on or avoid, and your preferred style and pressure. Take a moment to think through what you actually want from the session. The more your therapist knows going in, the more tailored the work can be.

Both sessions begin at the same time. You and your guest are in the couples massage room together, each on your own table with your own licensed massage therapist, professionally draped throughout. Because the sessions run simultaneously and are individually managed, neither guest’s preferences affect the other’s experience.

After the session, take a few quiet minutes before heading back out. Drinking water afterward is generally recommended to support your body following therapeutic massage work.
